Hello January 2025! I hope all is well and that you are finding some time to be creative so far in this new year.

Per the usual, I love to develop and explore an overarching theme for my work and assign a word of the year. These serve as points to draw ideas from in the next twelve months. Joy is my word of the year, not just looking for it but actively allowing myself to receive it with an open heart. In my art practice I am choosing to explore the concept of interim place/space and how we might connect one to memories of people and places and the temporal nature of it all. This concept being a continuation of my obsession with the idea of what it means to connect to a location and any deep, ethereal feelings - ones just on the surface, those seemingly unreachable memories associated with spaces/places. So I have some big questions to ask myself as I work hard to keep the conceptual avenues open to what this means and how to bring this from concept to object or writing. I’m excited to share my process with you!
